CNA, a part of the Edcon department store division, scooped four awards at the 11th Annual Toy of the Year awards held in Sandton last week. Out of 12 categories, CNA took home the awards for new-to-market Infant Toy of the Year (Talking Service Station), Girls Toy of the Year (Electronic Grand Piano); and were runners up in the Construction Toy of the Year (Robotic Science) and Electronic Game of the Year (Interactive Around the World).
This wasnt the first year CNA was rewarded for their toy products; in 2006 the 3-D Dino Adventure received the Generic Toy of the Year Award.
The Awards recognise new toys and are judged by panel of 25 people made up of retailers, professionals (teachers, or child care specialists for instance) and celebrities on the following criteria: value for money; safety; learning benefits (toys that teach); age appropriateness; play appeal; quality and durability; encouraging imaginative play; and novelty and uniqueness.
Other categories included Infant Toy, Toddler Toy, Outdoor Toy, Cutting Edge Toy, Boys Toy, Creative Toy, Traditional Game and Brand of the Year.
"CNA aims to be the store of choice for toy purchases, says Deborah O Carroll, Divisional Buying Manager CNA Creative Division, "and these four awards confirm we are well on our way!"
The award winning toys are available at selected CNA and Edgars stores.
